LAT targeting

  • Updated

Moloco Ads provides target options to let you choose whether to show your ads on Limit ad tracking (LAT) enabled devices. This article covers the definition of LAT and how to configure the targeting options available for your campaign.

What is limit ad tracking?

Limit ad tracking (LAT) is a feature that allows users to opt out of sharing their devices' advertising IDs (i.e., IDFA or ADID). When LAT has been enabled on a user's device, it is no longer possible to collect the user's advertising ID and use that to retarget the user.

Configure LAT targeting options

Important: At this time, LAT targeting is only available for app install (i.e., user acquisition) campaigns.

  1. Select your ad account from the drop-down menu on the top left.
  2. Select the app to add a campaign to.
  3. Click + Create Campaign to set up a new campaign. Alternatively, to update an existing campaign, you can click the pencil icon next to the campaign you would like to update under Campaigns.
  4. Scroll down to Advanced Settings and click the pencil icon to reveal LAT targeting options.

LAT targeting options Description
All Devices This option targets all devices irrespective of their LAT status. We recommend choosing this option. Be sure that probabilistic attribution for Moloco is enabled in your MMP settings. Since advertising IDs can't be collected from LAT devices, you can only measure conversions from LAT devices based on the probabilistic attribution method rather than ID matching(i.e., deterministic attribution).
Only LAT On Devices This option targets only those devices with LAT enabled. This means that your ads are only displayed on devices without an advertising ID (i.e., IDFA or ADID). Only LAT Off Devices This option targets only those devices where LAT isn't enabled. This means that your ads are only displayed on devices with an advertising ID (i.e., IDFA or ADID).
