Audience
In the Audience section, you can use the Include and Exclude features to target specific users who have done specific in-app activities for re-engagement campaign purposes. For example, you can target users who have installed an app within the last 30 days but haven't opened the app within the last 7 days. Keep in mind that this setting is optional since we automatically target existing users of your app included in MMP event postbacks when you run re-engagement campaigns.
- If you choose
Any
, your target audience is going to be users who meet any of the conditions you have set using App and Event, and User lists. - If you choose
All
, your target audience is going to be users who meet all of the conditions you have set using App and Event, and User lists. - Under App and Event, you can enter conditions to target users who performed certain actions during a set period of time in select apps. The period for time for an event can be up to the last 90 days.
- Under User lists, you can either select existing user lists or create a new user list by uploading an ADID list .csv file. The ADID list file must be in the same format as this template, without headers. We recommend using this feature if you would like to include or exclude your existing users before integrating MMP postbacks with Moloco.
Set multiple conditions
Suppose you select Any
and set four conditions. Your target audience is going to be users who meet any of the following four conditions you have set.
- Added to cart within the last 7 days OR
- Purchased items within the last 7 days OR
- Belongs to USER LIST A OR
- Belongs to USER LIST B
Suppose you select All
and set four conditions. Your target audience is going to be users who meet all of the following four conditions you have set.
- Achieved level 20 within the last 30 days AND
- Purchased items within the last 30 days AND
- Belongs to USER LIST A AND
- Belongs to USER LIST B
Placement
In the Placement section, you can use the Include and Exclude features to include in or exclude from targeting specific publisher apps, IAB category, and/or ad exchange.
- Publisher app: Enter one or more app bundles of the publisher(s) you wish to include in or exclude from targeting. The drop-down menu isn't available for publishers. You can copy and paste a list of app bundle IDs separated by commas or spaces to enter multiple app bundles at once.
- Publisher app category: Select one or more IAB categories to include in or exclude from targeting.
- Exchange: Select one or more ad exchanges to include in or exclude from targeting.
To get the most out of your campaigns, we don't recommend blocking or targeting specific publishers at this time. Since Moloco's machine learning engine optimizes at the user level rather than the publisher level, we can find valuable users even if they have showed up on low-performing publisher apps in the past. Having the broadest possible reach is ideal. If you need to block a list of publishers for brand safety reasons, consider blocking as few as possible.

Create user lists
You can upload a list of ADIDs to User Lists.
-
Select your ad account from the drop-down menu on the left.
-
Click Assets from the left sidebar menu.
-
Click User Lists. This takes you to User Lists where you can see all user lists you have added so far.
-
Click Create. This takes you to New User List where you can upload user lists.
-
Enter a name for the user list under Title and choose the OS type.
Important: The OS selected must match the OS of the ADIDs uploaded.
- Click or drag and drop to browse the ADID list file. Only CSV formats are accepted and the ADIDs must be listed in the first column as shown in the example below.
The ADID list must be in the same format as this template, without headers.
- Once the upload is complete, the total number of accepted ADIDs is displayed on the screen. ADIDs with spaces or blank cells are considered invalid and removed from the final count. However, ADIDs from another OS or duplicate ADIDs can be included in the count.
- Click Create.
- As the user list is being uploaded to Moloco Ads, the status will read Preparing. When the status is updated to Ready, the user list is ready to be used in a campaign.
- To make changes to an existing user list, click the pencil icon next to the user list you would like to update under User Lists.
- To start using a user list for a campaign, you should first create a target and add that target to an ad group.
Frequently asked questions
Can we target people of a specific gender through our campaigns?
No, but Moloco's machine learning technology automatically targets the users who are most likely to contribute to your campaign optimization goals — regardless of their gender. If Moloco receives separate event postbacks like signup_female
and signup_male
, you can generate campaigns to optimize for each gender's actions.
Is ADID upload mandatory for Re-engagement campaign operation?
It's not mandatory. When you create a re-engagement campaign, Moloco automatically targets users who appear in the postback data at least once. If you want to show ads to users with specific other conditions, you can set up the App Activity (a postback-based custom audience) or upload the ADIDs of users you want. For a more detailed guide, check out Target Settings.
Is it recommended to block or target certain publishers?
To get the most from your campaigns, we don't recommend blocking or targeting specific publishers. Since Moloco's machine learning engine optimizes on a user level (not publisher level), we can find valuable users even if they showed up in low-performing publisher apps in the past.
Having the broadest possible reach is ideal. If you need to block a list of publishers for brand safety, consider blocking as few as possible.
