Creative settings

Follow the step-by-step guide below to add new creatives. If you want to learn how to add creatives to creative groups, refer to Creative group settings.

Note: The available exchanges and inventories may vary depending on the creative(s) added. For more information, check the Moloco creative guide.

 

Go to the creative upload page

  1. Select your ad account from the drop-down menu on the left.
  2. Select your app on the left sidebar menu. 
  3. Click Creatives under the app.
  4. Click Create button.
  5. Follow the step-by-step instructions below by creative types.

 

Image creative

 

  1. On the creative upload page, click Image tab and select 1 among the 3 options below to set the title of the creatives.
    • File name with extension will set the creative name as the file name including the file extension. For example: Image_300x250.jpg
    • File name without extension will set the creative name as the file name without the file extension. For example: Image_300x250
    • Custom can be used to manually enter creative names different than the file name.

  2. Upload new images or add the existing images.
    • Upload new images: Click the designated area to upload a folder of images or drag & drop the images to the designated area. You can also upload a ZIP file by toggling on ZIP file mode on the upper right side.screencast_2021-12-14_22-46-12.gif
    • Add existing images: Click Import button, select image creatives that have previously been uploaded, and click Import button on the bottom right.screencast_2021-12-17_22-16-11.gif
  3. If you see an alert that the image dimension is invalid, click the   button next to the creative title to delete the individual invalid creative or click Screenshot_2020-07-05_at_1.20.18_PM.png button to remove all invalid sizes at once.

    Note:  You can't upload native images on this page. Click Native tab to upload native images.

  4. Once all creatives have been added, click Create button.
  5. To edit uploaded creatives, click Edit button on the list.

 

Native creative

Native creatives consist of app icon, app title, description text, main image, video, and a CTA (Call To Action) button. 

  • Check Native ads specs & checklist to ensure that the native creatives meet the creative guidelines and specs.
  • When running the campaign in Korea, we recommend preparing 1200x600 native images to expose your ads in Kakao inventory. Check the specific Kakao exchange guide.
  • Samsung exchange has different guidelines on native creative. If you want to run your ads on Samsung exchange, refer to Samsung exchange creative guide.

 

  1. On the creative upload page, click Native tab and select 1 among the 3 options below to set the title of the creatives.
    • File name with extension will set the creative name as the main image file name or the video file name including the file extension. For example: Image_1200x628.jpg
    • File name without extension will set the creative name as the file name without the file extension. For example: Image_1200x628
    • Custom can be used to manually enter creative names different than the file name.

  2. There are 2 types of native ads: Native image and Native video. Click on   key and expand the toggle below to complete native image and native video creation process.

    Native image settings
    1. Click Image tab under Native Type.

    2. Fill out Business title, Description, and Call to Action text.
      Field Description
      Business title

      Input the title shown on the Native Ad. We recommend using the app name. (Up to 25 letters including spaces) 

      Description

      Input a description that explains your app well. (Up to 90 letters including spaces)

      Call To Action text

      Input a CTA (Call To Action) button text to encourage user action. Download NowInstall NowPlay NowBuy Now are commonly used depending on the campaign and your app.

      If your campaign targets Korea, refer to Kakao exchange creative guidelines to set the right CTA text. 

    3. Under Icon, click the designated area, drag & drop the icon to the designated area, or click Import button to upload your app's icon file.
    4. Under Images, upload new native images or add the existing native images.
      • Upload new native images: Click the designated area to upload native images or drag & drop native images to the designated area. 
      • Add the existing native images: Click Import button, select native images that have previously been uploaded, and click Import button on the bottom right.
    5. If you see an alert that the image dimension is invalid, click the   button next to the creative title to delete the individual invalid creative or click Screenshot_2020-07-05_at_1.20.18_PM.png button to remove all invalid sizes at once.
    6. Once all creatives have been added, click Create button.
    7. To edit uploaded creatives, click   Edit button on the list.
    Native video settings
    1. Click Video tab under Native Type.

    3. Under Icon, click the designated area, drag & drop the icon to the designated area, or click Import button to upload your app's icon file.
    4. Under Images and Videos, upload your assets for native ads. You can upload new assets or add the existing assets.
      • Upload new native images/videos: Click the designated area to upload native images/videos or drag & drop native images/videos to the designated area. 
      • Add the existing native images/videos: Click Import button, select native images/videos that have previously been uploaded, and click Import button on the bottom right.

      Tip: You can create an image for native video automatically by clicking 'Generate' button. We use app's title, logo image, developer name, review, and rating info to create an image.

      Note: An image same as the native video's orientation (horizontal, vertical, and square) will be registered with the video. If you set up multiple video and image files together, we'll create all possible combinations of native video and image.

    5. Once all creatives have been added, select Create button.

    6. If there's an asset with an invalid dimension or the orientation of the image and video doesn't match, you'll see an alert. Upload an image that fits with the video's orientation. Otherwise, click the   button next to the creative title or click Screenshot_2020-07-05_at_1.20.18_PM.png button.
    7. Once all creatives have been added, click Create button.
    8. To edit uploaded creatives, click  Edit button on the list.

 

Upload video creatives

 

  1. On the creative upload page, click Video tab and select 1 among the 3 options below to set the title of the creatives.
    • File name with extension will set the creative name as the file name including the file extension. For example: Video_1280x720.mp4
    • File name without extension will set the creative name as the file name without the file extension. For example: Video_1280x720
    • Custom can be used to manually enter creative names different than the file name.

  2. Under Videos and End cards, upload your assets for video ads. You can upload new assets or add existing assets. 
    • Upload new videos/end cards: Click the designated area to upload videos/images or drag & drop videos to the designated area. 
    • Add existing videos/end cards: Click Import button, select videos/images that have previously been uploaded, and click Import button on the bottom right.

    Tip: You can create an end card image automatically by clicking 'Generate' button. We use app's title, logo image, developer name, review, and rating info to create an image.

    Note: A end card image that is same as the video's orientation (horizontal, vertical, and square) will be registered as the video's end card. If you set up multiple video and image files together, we'll create all possible combinations of video and end card.

    Auto-generated end card image is automatically generated with the campaign app's title, app logo image, developer, review, and rating info.
