Creative guidelines

Naver must review and approve your creatives before you can use them in your campaigns. Your creatives must meet the requirements listed below. 

 

General guidelines

Creatives that fail to comply with any of the following may be restricted or banned from Naver-owned inventories at any time. 

Compliance with pertinent legal standards and procedures

  • Advertised product must meet all legal standards and have obtained any required legal licensure and/or approval where required.
  • Naver doesn't run ads for products and services restricted from online sale and purchase (e.g., tobacco, medicine, alcohol, contact lens, etc.).
  • Naver doesn't run ads for counterfeit and knockoff products.
  • Advertised website can't include any adult content without required procedures for legal compliance.

Protection of user and ad medium credentials

  • Ad must be free of any false information (e.g., assuming the identity of another entity, 100% guaranteed effect, etc.) that may confuse or mislead viewers.
  • Ad must land viewers to the Naver-approved website.
  • Any ad that interferes with users' web activity in anyway (e.g., auto-downloading Active-X) may be restricted.
  • Any advertised product or service known to be likely to cause damage to users (e.g., non-fulfillment of contract terms, delivery delay, unreasonable rejection of refund request, failure to follow up, etc.) may be restricted.

Compliance with ad quality standards

  • Advertised website must be complete and accessible to users.
  • Ad must include only keywords and/or creatives directly relevant to the advertised product or service.

Compliance with Naver Display ad standards

Additionally, Naver doesn't run ads for products and services that fall under the following restricted industries.

  • Websites for decadent establishments (e.g., karaoke bar, hostess bar, etc.), including job ads and employment information
  • Websites for adult video chat and/or fake dating service
  • Websites providing only information about high end luxury products
  • Websites providing information about and/or facilitating trade of firearms, swords, and other weaponry
  • Websites intended for public distribution of software and/or files

 

Creative asset guidelines

Creative format Component Guidelines
Video Video
  • Supported orientations: 16:9 (recommended), at least 720x720
  • Size: Up to 1GB
  • Length: 6 seconds to 10 minutes
  • Text and image(s) in video must be clearly recognizable. Audio must be crisp and clear.
  • Video must be free of any overly saturating visual effects (e.g., blinking, glitter, etc.).
  • Text in video must be free of any typos, grammatical errors, and any other misleading elements that may confuse viewers.
  • Video without audio must clearly state that video doesn't include audio.
  • Video can't include any components that can cause ad to be mistaken for anything other than an ad such as a live broadcast.
  • Video that may be inappropriate to children may not be displayed in any inventories in platforms intended for children (e.g., Juniver).
Audio

Video must include audio. Video without audio must display the statement 본 영상은 사운드가 없는 광고입니다. (i.e., This ad does not include audio.), free of any visual effects (e.g., blinking, shifting, etc.), for the first 10 seconds. 

Landing URL You can't include link(s) to YouTube.
