How to set up Connected TV (CTV) measurements with Adjust (Adjust Suite)

  • Updated

To start running Connected TV (CTV) campaigns with Moloco, you must set up CTV-specific attribution with Adjust. This guide walks you through how to set up CTV attribution on Adjust Suite.

Step 1: Sign in to Adjust.

Sign in to Adjust with your unique login credentials for Adjust. If you haven't already done so, you must first create an app on Adjust dashboard

Step 2: Add Moloco.

If you haven't already done so, you must integrate postbacks. From the startup page, click + New ad network under Campaign Lab. Type "Moloco" into the search bar and click Moloco when it shows up as an option. Click Next to move on to the next step.

If you have already integrated postbacks and you would like to create additional CTV tracking links, you can navigate directly to the tracking link configuration page by clicking Campaign Lab > Ad networks from the left sidebar. Under Ad networks, type "Moloco" into the search bar and click Moloco to land on the ad network overview page for Moloco. From the ad network overview page for Moloco, click + New link. This pulls up a list of all apps you have created so far. From the list of apps, click the app you would like to create CTV tracking link(s) for. Then, proceed with tracking link creation from specifying the tracking link structure all the way to integrating cost data

Step 3: Select an app.

From the list of available options, select the app you would like to set up postbacks for. Click Next to move on to the next step.

Step 4: Enable data sharing for Moloco.

Toggle on Enable and be sure to select Data from all attribution sources to take full advantage of Moloco's machine learning. You must check the box next to Sessions and In-app revenue (from in-app purchases) and we recommend checking the box next to all available options except Parameters to share as much data with us as is possible.

In most cases, there is no need to map any parameters. However, you must map the events to track to measure your campaign performance under Map your events. For example, to track in-app purchases, you must click + Map event and add Make payment to Adjust event, and add Purchase to Network event. With In-app revenue (from in-app purchases) enabled, this lets you track in-app purchases along with their associated revenue amount. Click Next to move on to create tracking links.

Step 5: Specify the tracking link structure.

For Set your link use case, click Cross-device link. For Link name, enter a name for the CTV tracking link. There is no need to modify any of the existing parameters. Click Next to move on to the next step.

[Optional] Step 6: Update attribution settings.

If you like, you can specify an alternative attribution window for the tracking link. The new attribution window overrides the app-level attribution window you have specified. Click Next to move on to the next step.

Important: If you would like to configure or update the app-level CTV attribution settings, from the app overview page, click Attribution settings and scroll down to find Connected TV attribution. Click Edit to specify or update the app-level attribution window that applies to all tracking links for the app. Click Save to save changes.

Step 7: Save and register your CTV tracking link.

Review the configurations and click Create link to save changes. Copy over the impression URL, which is your view-through tracking link, to Moloco Ads. To learn how to register tracking links, see the tracking link registration guide

Step 8: Integrate cost data with Adjust.

If you haven't already done so, start sharing your ad cost data with Adjust. To learn more, see the cost data integration guide

Important: If you are using the Ad Spend API, be sure that you have appended the &cost_id=%{cost_id} parameter at the end of the view-through tracking link.
